STRATEGIC THINKING AND PLANNING

I. COURSE INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES

  • The process of creating a Strategy involves two elements: Strategic Thinking and Strategic Planning. Strategic Thinking is the part of the process which focuses on analysing the current strategic environment, defining a vision of the desired future and creating new strategic ideas which will enable the organisation to ‘out-think’ its competitors. It is all about creating tomorrow’s competitive advantages today!
  • Strategic Planning involves taking those strategic ideas and formulating them into a detailed business plan which becomes the strategic roadmap steering the organisation in the direction of the strategic vision.
  • By the end of the 2-day program, participants will be able to:
    • Understand the definitions and components of strategic planning
    • Know the role of strategic planning
    • Understanding of the relationships between strategy, planning and execution
    • Assess and improve the company strategy
    • Use tools in thinking and planning
    • Blend creative and analytical approaches to strategic decision

  • The training is conducted by workshop process base. The workshop is carefully designed to address all styles of learning and to engage participants fully. Lectures and discussions are either preceded or followed by powerful individual or group exercises. These exercises provide opportunities for personal participation in real situations.
